Statement
My paintings are poetical abstractions of the natural beauty that surrounds us. They are arrived at by intuitive, improvisational methods and try to show something of the quiet mystery which often accompanies such beauty. Line, shape, texture and gentle colour are used to make visual statements distilled to an essence.
The titles are merely signposts to the paintings origins. The final meaning will depend upon the viewer’s perceptions as well as on my work. I expect my thoughts to be taken from me and translated into the language of the recipient’s imagination.
