Artist Statement

Feelings, emotions, dreams, memories and the landscape of Wales- these are the main themes that underpin my work. Using familiar and ordinary concepts I attempt to create a visual language of symbols, signs and colour through which I can make sense of the world and life in general.
An integral part of the creative process for me is to rediscover hidden and forgotten paths that have played an important part in my life and in doing so tell a story of that journey. Through the use of memory and the investigation of past incidents, I find it possible to establish an identity as an artist and thus record a narrative of the self.
